Prepping Bare Root Trees

My parents had always done bare root shrubs and trees and had success, so we decided to give it a try. The trees below are cherry trees.

We start by soaking the roots for 24 hours. This stimulates the roots and preps them to be planted.

We had all of our holes dug and ready to do. Once the roots have soaked, I placed each tree in the ground and added an organic compost around them. I then soaked the trees with quite a bit of water.

This is one of our dogs, Toots enjoying the sunshine!
